Coaches Coaching Parents

MCA is running a couple sessions meant for parents who want to get more familiar with the game and want to help their sons or daughters progress as players!

As coaches we get to work with players a handful of hours a week. Many times we get asked by parents, “What can I do to help them at home?”. Well you asked for it so we are going to start helping parents better understand the terminology, the mechanics, and the skills that go into playing the greatest game on the planet.
This new program is going to be for parents only and we are going to start to explain the game on several levels. A few of the the topics that we hope to cover:

• Basics mechanics of the various skills in the game and how to reinforce good habits in your player.

• Terminology about the game - there is a ton of jargon that makes no sense to anyone who hasn’t spent a ton of time on the court.

• Game mechanics and what coaches may be thinking.

• Positions, and what each of them do.

• Simple drills players can do at home to help them improve.
